Buxus microphylla, the Japanese box or little leaf box, is a species of flowering plant in the box family found in Japan and Taiwan. This species is easily recognised by it's light coloured deep groove bark on its trunk. It is a dwarf evergreen shrub or small tree can grow up to 1 metre tall and wide and generally an easy to care for bonsai.
