Japanese Hornbeam 岩四手

The Japanese hornbeam is a unique bonsai with intriguing trunk details and vividly green foliage, a lively contrast of ruggedness and tenderness. 

It is known for its strongly defined vascular lines that run through the tree’s smooth, creamy white bark, sometimes leaving weathered crevices in the aged trunk. The foliage of hornbeam is well loved for its delicate, pleated appearance and finely-toothed edges. 

This bonsai is styled in the classic informal upright "Moyogi" style and has excellently balanced angular branching. It sits elegantly in a traditional blue round pot. This is a slightly more uncommon bonsai species, and is seldom available locally.
