The Japanese hornbeam is a unique bonsai with intriguing trunk details and vividly green foliage, a lively contrast of ruggedness and tenderness.
It is known for its strongly defined vascular lines that run through the tree’s smooth, creamy white bark, sometimes leaving weathered crevices in the aged trunk. The foliage of hornbeam is well loved for its delicate, pleated appearance and finely-toothed edges.
This bonsai is potted in a blue Japanese glazed pot, elevated on a mini moss hill. The muffin-like structure of the base gives this tree a uniquely adorable personality, perfect as a gift for anyone with a soft spot for charming trees. This is a slightly more uncommon bonsai species, and is seldom available locally.
