Japanese Maple 'Deshojo' 日本枫树‘出猩猩‘

The Japanese Maple is a widely loved woody plant native to East Asia - specifically in countries like Japan and Korea. It owes its botanical name (Acer palmatum) to its iconic palm-shaped leaves. The 'Deshojo' cultivar features an upright, rounded habit and is one of, if not the most popular cultivar of Acer palmatum out there. Not only are its emerging leaves a brilliant, youthful shade of red, it is also much easier to care for compared to other cultivars.

This beautiful Deshojo Maple bonsai sits in a special square Japanese stone pot, its roots firmly secured onto a piece of rock (Seki-joju). Hanging onto the firm rock, the Maple leans to the side in an elegant manner, spreading its branches to show off its lush foliage.
