Japanese Sekka Hinoki Bonsai 日本石化桧

Different from the typical hinoki cypress, Sekka Hinoki is a special dwarf cultivar with extremely fine foliage, giving them a unique delicate and elegant character amongst other bonsais.

In Chinese, the Sekka hinoki is known as '石化桧', which can be translated to be 'fossilized hinoki'. This is an apt description of its fine foliage which can be rather hard and stiff to touch, making it an interesting bonsai.
